MFA Update on May 21
Please note that we have a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) update scheduled for May 21. After this update is complete, you will be asked to re-enroll in MFA. This process is only required once, and is quick and easy.

Below are some frequently asked questions in relation to MFA.

How do I re-enroll in MFA?
There are four quick steps you'll be asked to complete.
  1. Clear all session cookies from your web browser. Skipping this step may lead to misleading displays or errors.
  2. Sign into your myBURT account.
  3. When prompted, select three challenge questions. If you see questions you previously used, you may re-use them along with your original answers.
  4. When prompted, select a new image and passphrase. You may choose to use the same image and passphrase as you previously used.

That's all there is to it!

When do I need to re-enroll in MFA?
myBURT will automatically prompt you to re-enroll upon your first log in after our update is complete. The update is scheduled for May 21, so you will not receive a prompt until after that date.

Can I re-enroll in MFA before May 21?
You can update your MFA preferences at any time through myBURT. However, re-enrollment will still be triggered after the scheduled update. If you attempt to re-enroll prior to the update you will need to re-enroll again once the update is complete.

Why do I have to re-enroll in MFA?
We are making updates to our MFA database to ensure that it continues to follow the industry's best practices in keeping you and your accounts safe. After all, safety and soundness is one of the cornerstones of our mission.

Will there be any other changes to myBURT?
The MFA enhancement is the only update scheduled. Once you have re-enrolled in MFA, all navigation and functions will remain the same in myBURT.

What is MFA?
MFA is one of the many ways that Financial Center secures your online accounts. When you enroll in MFA, you choose an image from our image library (which contains thousands of images). You also choose a text phrase and set up challenge questions. This enables us to authenticate your account when you access it from an unregistered device. It also helps you verify that you are at the authentic myBURT website.
